MWCC celebrates its fifth anniversary as a benchmark for urban solutions and public-private partnerships

Madrid World Capital (MWCC) commemorates its fifth anniversary consolidating itself as a pioneering ecosystem in public-private collaboration, urban solutions, sustainability and innovation. Since its founding in 2020, MWCC has experienced sustained growth and has strengthened its leadership in the sector, establishing strategic alliances with public and private entities. It has established itself as a key European entity, bringing together 189 public and private companies.

In the last year, MWCC has registered a 5% growth and has reached 191 associated entities, including companies, academic institutions and public bodies. Its impact on the university sector is significant, with the participation of 9 public and private universities and the representation of 70% of the university sector.

The association is distinguished by its capacity to generate value through forums, activities and innovative projects. Currently, more than 68% of its entities actively participate in these events, promoting collaboration and the development of the sector. Likewise, 54% of the member companies are listed companies, while 46% are SMEs from various sectors.

MWCC has positioned itself as an ecosystem of reference in the development of sustainable initiatives. With more than 40 projects underway and more than 10 executed, the organisation is leading the transformation of the sector at national and international level. In fact, 70% of its entities have a global focus, participating in impact projects in different countries.

At the institutional level, MWCC collaborates with state, regional and municipal entities, reinforcing its role as a key player in sustainable urban development. Its work has been recognised with prestigious awards, among them:

‘Best Business Initiative’ Award.
Caminos Madrid Award in the ‘Responsible and Sustainable Entity’ category.
Corporate 2024 Award for ‘Best Social Values’.
Distinction as the best public-private entity in Spain.
Inclusion in the G20 GIH Hub as the first and only Spanish entity in this forum.
MWCC not only promotes innovation in engineering, construction and architecture, but also develops social impact initiatives. In this sense, it has participated in the donation of toys for sick children in collaboration with Madrid Excelente and the Ronald McDonald House. In addition, it has renewed for the third consecutive year

the Diversity Certificate awarded by the Foundation for Diversity, reaffirming its commitment to inclusion and equity.

Among its most outstanding initiatives are the creation of the Innovation Lab together with Fundación Metrópoli, the publication of the Urban Solution Directory in collaboration with ICEX, and the presentation of the Urban Tech Hub at the Global Mobility Call.
