MWCC has been present at the APDHE 2022 Awards ceremony, held at the Caixa Forum. The Association for Human Rights of Spain (APDHE), in its more than 40 years of activity, has annually recognized the work of others who, like APDHE itself, fight to defend Human Rights.

Through three categories, national, international and journalism, the APDHE awards people, organizations, institutions that have been developing actions and works for respect for Human Rights from the most absolute integrity and generosity.

The first edition was held in 1982 and we hope to continue many more by valuing, acknowledging and promoting the incessant work of human rights defenders in the world.

In this edition the winners are:

  • NATIONAL AWARD ex aequo Patricia Fernández Vicens. Lawyer specialized in migration, refuge, childhood and trafficking
  • CEAR ONG for the human rights of refugees, stateless persons and migrants in vulnerable situations
  • HONORARY AWARD. Adela Cortina. Étnor Academic Director and Professor of Ethics and Political Philosophy UV
  • INTERNATIONAL AWARD. Raji Sourani. Lawyer and Director General of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR)
  • COMMUNICATION AWARD. Nico Castilian. Journalist specialized in the phenomenon of immigration in Africa
  • CULTURE AWARD. Juan Diego Botto Rota. Actor and director with great social commitment and staunch defender of Human Rights and solidarity justice.

MWCC presented its candidacy for the first time in the international category, with the project “Solidarity aid from the Construction, Engineering and Architecture sector to the Ukrainian people”, obtaining the category of finalist.
