MWCC participates in the meetings of the Padecasa-UAX Chair on Sustainable Mobility
The Madrid City Council, together with students from the Alfonso X el Sabio University (UAX), MWCC and leading business representatives, inaugurated the Padecasa-UAX Chair meetings, a collaborative space dedicated to innovation and sustainability in the field of mobility and road paving.
The event, held at the UAX urban campus in Madrid, brought together experts, academics and students to discuss the main challenges facing the sector, with the aim of fostering joint solutions that promote sustainable development. During the inauguration, the City Council's Delegate for Mobility highlighted the most relevant challenges facing the capital, such as the transition towards more sustainable techniques, the implementation of innovative materials and the consolidation of digital transformation in road infrastructures.
The main purpose of the Padecasa-UAX Chair meetings is to develop training, advisory, research and dissemination activities to address the challenges of urban mobility. This initiative also seeks to actively involve students, offering them the opportunity to participate in projects with a significant social and environmental impact.
Among the topics discussed during the conference, the importance of developing new techniques and materials for road paving that reduce environmental impact was highlighted, as well as the need to integrate digitalisation into infrastructure management. These priorities respond to the commitments made by the city in terms of sustainability and urban transformation.
With this initiative, the Padecasa-UAX Chair reinforces its commitment to the training of future professionals and the promotion of a constant dialogue between the academic sector, public administration and industry, consolidating Madrid as a benchmark in innovation and sustainability.
