MWCC, together with the association Círvite, has participated in the inauguration of its new Reshogar Alía, a pioneering project in Spain. This residence has been specifically designed for elderly people with intellectual disabilities or in the process of premature aging, and is the first center of its kind in the country to obtain Passivhaus certification, which guarantees high standards of energy efficiency.

The Reshogar Alía not only provides a suitable environment for the comprehensive care of its 44 residents, but also seeks to reduce its carbon footprint through the use of energy-efficient technologies. Thanks to the implementation of the Passivhaus standard, the building consumes less than half the energy of a conventional building, thus contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in the 2030 Agenda.

This innovative approach not only reduces energy consumption, but also improves residents' quality of life by providing optimal thermal and acoustic comfort. In addition, the mechanical ventilation system ensures a healthy atmosphere by filtering the air and minimizing the spread of viruses and bacteria.

The success of this project has been possible thanks to the collaboration of various entities and foundations. The EDP Foundation, Naturgy Foundation and Repsol Foundation have been fundamental pillars in the financing and technical advice, while the Madrid City Council and the Community of Madrid have backed the initiative with administrative support and the granting of public places.

The Reshogar Alía is a clear example of how energy efficiency and quality social care can be combined, paving the way for future similar projects throughout the country.
