With the support of 15 companies and entities and in alliance with leading organizations at the international and national level, Forética will focus ‘Sustainable Cities 2030’ in three areas of work for this year: Sustainable construction; sustainable urban development; and public-private collaboration to achieve sustainability goals in urban settings.
For this, from C40 Cities, Pamela Jouven, Head of City-Business Climate Alliance, conveys the importance of cities as key agents in promoting global sustainability. This Climate Leadership Group – known as C40 Cities – is made up of a group of cities that join forces to reduce carbon emissions in the atmosphere and adapt to climate change.

The ‘Sustainable Cities 2030’ project is led by Forética and made up of a total of 15 companies and entities, led by ASPRIMA, CEMEX, ENGIE and Sanitas. Accenture, AECLU, Banco Santander, Correos, Endesa, Ferrovial, Fundación Juan XXIII, HEINEKEN, Metro Ligero Oeste, Naturgy and OHL also participate in this project.
As allies, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is part of the initiative at the global level, at the national level the National Environment Congress (CONAMA), and at the local level the Castellana Norte Madrid District and the Madrid World Capital Association of Construction, Engineering and Architecture. Likewise, Forética maintains strategic alliances with meetings of international relevance in this field such as the Cities Forum or the Smart City Expo World Congress, in its different editions.
In its trajectory, Forética has projects from the Sustainable Cities area such as the ‘Toolbox for adaptation to climate change in cities’, a project in collaboration with the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, aimed at municipalities at the national level to develop their strategies and actions for adaptation to climate change. Also the project ‘Sustainable Life in Cities’, highlighting the best practices in CSR matters related to urban sustainability, which had the collaboration of the FEMP and the Spanish Office for Climate Change.
