The Madrid World Capital Association of Construction, Engineering and Architecture has held its first meeting of partner and collaborating entities at the municipal facilities of La Nave (Madrid).

The event was opened by the Councilor for Economy, Innovation and Employment of the Madrid City Council, Miguel Angel Redondo, as well as by the Councilor for Urban Development, Mariano Fuentes. Both showed the strong commitment of the Madrid City Council for the MWCC association, which currently brings together more than 135 national and international public and private entities. At the same time, the councilors representing the different political parties of the Madrid City Council, PSOE, Mas Madrid and VOX attended.

The event brought together the highest executives of the public and private institutions associated with MWCC. More than 160 people attended La Nave in person and more than 500 people connected via streaming to the broadcast of the event. This is a clear example of the immense public, national, regional and local institutional support that the association has. The event was joined by representatives of CESCE, ICO, ICEX, ADIF, EMT, Metro de Madrid… .as well as from different Ministries. There were also different representatives from private companies, universities, associated professional colleges, thus expanding the strength of the association.

The vision of the project is comprehensive, transversal and for the future for the city and for Spain. MWCC has created an ecosystem that takes advantage of the different tools to make public-private collaboration a management and project creation and design tool.

The project promoted and supported by the Madrid City Council, was born with the purpose of improving the quality of life of citizens, promoting the sectors in which Madrid had a competitive advantage and, at the same time, met two requirements: high qualification of human resources and intensive use of technology.

Thanks to more than 100 interviews with experts and different round tables, they drew up a Strategic Plan for the Sector for Madrid.

MWCC has three main objectives: to promote these activities in the City and in Spain, to consolidate the international leadership of our companies and to make Madrid visible as the world reference center in our sector (s).

We believe that we are not entirely aware of the enormous potential that resides in the City and, through this project, we want to take advantage of the entire ecosystem of Madrid, unique in the world, to achieve the objectives indicated above and thus contribute to a greater well-being of the population.

In the words of the president of MWCC, David Garcia Núñez “We are a family of 135 members, in which we all add and invite to continue adding collaborators and partners to make Madrid and Spain a benchmark in infrastructures”.

“We are an association that offers: work, future and growth. We are the sum of all of you ”.
